History
The founders Georg Kutelas, former sales executive of Austro Olivetti and IBM Austria and managing director of Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH, Vienna, identified the chances of the evolving market in the Central Asia in the early 1990’s. He was determined to support and participate to the significant economic growth of the region that had then become independent from the Soviet Union. Due to the enormous reserves of natural resources – oil and gas and uranium, the area was prone to strengthen its position in the world economy.
First, Georg Kutelas set up several limited liability companies and partnerships in international trading with agricultural and construction machines, spare parts and equipment in Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, concluding major contracts with government organizations.
Yasar Incesu, a successful businessman with a long track record in sales of premium brands such as Mercedes Benz and BMW personnel, commercial vehicles and Shell lubricants in Turkmenistan – joined the IPC Group in the early 2000´s and began to develop new businesses. Yasar Incesu was awarded the title of “young business man of the year 2004” in Turkey and brought significant growth to the IPC companies.
Today the IPC Group is privately owned and business is successfully operated in Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Turkey. The IPC Group and its associated companies employ more than 300 people and the annual turnover rate exceeded USD 100 million in 2009 (USD 167 million in 2008).
